He married:

(1) to Isabella Preston (b.1683) daughter of Edinburgh surgeon Dr George Preston, and grand daughter of Sir Robert Preston (Lord Preston).Preston baronets Robert obtained a charter of the lands of Preston, Mid Lothian, 20 August 1633, was knighted, and admitted a lord of session, 4 March 1672, when he took the title of Lord Preston, and died in October 1674. [5] Isabella and her father Dr George were among the last descendants of the Preston's of Valleyfield & Gorton.

Isobella married John LAUDER, son of Colin LAUDER and Elizabeth ST CLAIR. (John LAUDER was christened on 27 Jul 1683 in Edinburgh, Scotland and died in 1737.)
