Muircheartach of the leather cloaks, King of Aileach from 938 until 941. He frequently defeated the Norsemen from Dublin and he also carried out a war against the Norse-occupied Hebrides in 941.
He married Flann, daughter of Donnchadh, High King of Ireland and Chief of the Southern Ui Neill, and was killed in battle at Ardee against Blacar, King of Dublin leaving issue.
