``The Baylys, my mother's people, came over with the Marquis of Ormonde, and were granted a large and rich tract of land in the south of Ireland.
My grandfather by that branch, Rev. Henry Bayly, was Rector of Nenagh, and father of 23 children, of whom two, Henry and Peter, were in the battle of Trafalgar, and died Captains in the Royal Navy.''

Rev. Henry Bayly of Nenagh (Tipperary) died 29 January 1826. He was the father-in-law of Sir. William Rowan Hamilton. The death notice was reported in the "Southern Reporter & Cork Commerical Courier" and the "Cork Constitution," and also the "Waterford Mail":

Henry married Anne Penelope GRUEBER, daughter of Rev. James GRUEBER and Dorcas SMYTH, on 3 Jun 1783 in St Anne' Cathedral, Dublin, Ireland. (Anne Penelope GRUEBER was born in 1762 in St Anne' Cathedral, Dublin, Ireland ³ and died on 30 Sep 1837 in Dunsink Observatory, Dublin, Ireland.)
