Note: Senior Fellow, Trinity College, Dublin. Mathematician., The Dictionary of National Biography says "Descended from a Huguenot family which fled from France in 1685 and settled in Canterbury. His father, John Luby, married Eleanor Fogarty, of the old Irish family of Castle Fogarty.... He married first Mary Anne Wetherall, neice of General Sir Frederick Wetherall KCB, and secondly Jane Rathborne of Dunsina and had six sons and four daughters. He was a friend of William Rowan Hamilton." He attended a levee given by Queen Victoria at Dublin Castle 8 1849.
Thomas married Jane RATHBORNE, daughter of Henry RATHBORNE and Jane BAYLY, on 2 Jul 1840. (Jane RATHBORNE was born in Dec 1815, died on 22 Sep 1900 and was buried on 29 Sep 1900 in St Padarn, Llanbadarn Fawr, Wales.)
